4.2 Information We Collect Through Automatic Data Collection Technologies

As you navigate through and interact with the Website, we may use automatic data collection technologies to collect certain information about your equipment, browsing actions, and patterns, including:

See Choices About How We Use and Disclose Your Information for information on exercising choice about behavioral tracking.

Do-Not-Track is a public-private initiative, http://www.w3.org/2011/tracking-protection/", that has developed a technical “flag” or signal that an end user may be able to activate within their browser software to notify websites that they do not wish to be “tracked” by third parties as defined by the initiative. The initiative, however, has not reached a consensus as to exactly what technical or other actions those parties receiving the signal should take. As a result, Do-Not-Track has not yet been standardized and our Website does not alter its behavior or change its services when it receives a “do-not-track” flag or signal. Please see our California Privacy Statement and CCPA Notice below for information on opt-out tools available to California residents.

The information we collect automatically may be maintained or associated with other personal information we collect in other ways or receive from third parties. It helps us to improve the Website and to deliver a better and more personalized service, including by enabling us to:
  • Estimate our audience size and usage patterns.
  • Store information about your preferences, allowing us to customize the Website according to your individual interests.
  • Speed up your searches.
  • Recognize you when you return to the Website.
  • Detect possible fraudulent activity.

The technologies we use for this automatic data collection may include:
  • Cookies (or Browser or Mobile Cookies). A cookie is a small file placed on the hard drive of your computer. You may refuse to accept browser cookies by activating the appropriate setting on your browser. However, if you select this setting, you may be unable to access certain parts of the Website. Unless you have adjusted your browser setting so that it will refuse cookies, our system will issue cookies when you direct your browser to the Website.
  • Web Beacons. Pages of the Website and our e-mails may contain small electronic files known as web beacons (also referred to as clear gifs, pixel tags, and single-pixel gifs) that permit the Company, for example, to count users who have visited those pages or opened an email and for other related website statistics (for example, recording the popularity of certain website content and verifying system and server integrity).

4.3 Other Information Received from Customers and Third Parties

Part of our Services include professional claims reviews of claims received from customers who are health insurance carriers, which may include personal information. Such information is received by the Company as a business associate under the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (“HIPAA”) and is protected as PHI in accordance with its requirements. In providing the Company with such information, our customers should be particularly aware of their obligations of patient confidentiality, including such obligations under HIPAA, both in communicating with the Company and in responding to any review of our services posted on the Website. The Company does not have, and will not accept, any obligations of confidentiality with respect to communication other than those expressly stated in this Privacy Policy or for which it may otherwise be required to do so under applicable law.

We may also receive aggregated and/or de-identified information from customers in order to provide other Services such as identifying analyses and market trends. Such information is de-identified of any personal information by our customers before we receive it.

Finally, we may receive personal information regarding dentists, doctors, or other health professionals from customers who are health insurance carriers or credential verification organizations, to verify the accuracy of practice locations, credentials, or similar information. Such information is provided to the Company in our capacity as a service provider to those customers and is processed and protected in accordance with our agreements with those entities and is not used for any other purposes.

5. Third-Party Use of Cookies and Other Tracking Technologies

Some content or applications, including advertisements, on the Website are served by third parties, including advertisers, ad networks and servers, content providers, and application providers.
